Perfume - Ambergris By Bonne Bell

I have been searching for Ambergris by Bonne Bell for a very long time and someone from this board was kind enough to let me know that there was a bottle for sale on ebay last year but i was not on line for a few days and it was sold . If anyone knows where I might find it that would be fantastic. I loved that scent it was my signature scent and I do miss it. I wish Bonne Bell would bring it back because it was the best Ambergris perfume on the market in the 70's at least for me. Thanks,

Are you guys referring to Ambergris by Alyssa Ashley? I have not heard of Ambergris by Bonne Bell.

If it is Alyssa Ashley/Houbigant, you can obtain decanted Ambergris from perfumedcourt.com or at present there is a seller on ebay in Singapore who sells the orginal 2 oz. Spray mist of Ambergris by Houbigant/Alyssa Ashley.

As of today, she is selling a lot of 6 for about $600! Wish I could affort that! But if you watch, she will probably be selling a single spray for around $100.

I have ordered from her, and it is the original genuine stuff. It took about 2 weeks for it to arrive, which is fast considering it comes from Singapore.

I have also ordered from the perfumed court, and it is actually more reasonable to order from Singapore, but both are very good quality.

The name of the seller is perfumery_empire. You will probably have to search for her store, as searching for Ambergris by Houbigant Alyssa Ashley will not bring it up, for me anyway, unless you are sure to check the "worldwide" search box.

I am also going to try Monsieur Musk by Dana, as I have read about 3 different opinions that this is very similar to Ambergris. This cologne (for men) was apparently sold by Houbigant to Dana. It is discontinued, but easy to find and very cheap. I just ordered this yesterday from an ebay seller, and since I do have some Ambergris to compare it to, I will post my opinion on this later this week, hopefully.

Thanx for writing Cindy but yes the ambergris was by Bonne Bell. I tried Alyssa Ashley at that time but did not like it . I guess it didn't mix well with my body chemistry. Bonne Bell Ambergris was subtle but you couldn't help wanting to keep smelling the scent. It is in a small round bottle with a small round ball like gold cap and the perfume oil is a green in color. It is called Bonne Bell Skin Ambergris Oil.

Oh, I know - i missed that auction too- by the time Ebay let me log on and I signed up for paypal - it was too late. I was crushed as it is my mothers signature scent and I would LOVE to give her a bottle.

I loved the Ambergris by Bonne Bell too! I agree, they should make it again! Believe it or not, I still have a bottle of their "Skin Musk", which is still half full, just not "my scent", as the ambergris was for us both. I should probably sell it ebay, but it is a memory of times long past, so I'll have it forever. Just like many things, if I knew it was going away, I would have stocked up! Let us know if you succeed in finding any,( after you have secured yours, of course)! And no, no other brand was "it", Bonne Bell civet musk was similar, but my second choice.
