I think it was by Coty. We used to carry the bottles in our quilted purses in junior high and douse ourselves between classes! What a great

| Been searching for 2.5 hours (off and on for 5 years) for it. I had one in 1976 when I lived in North Carolina. I was in 7th grade. It was sooooo strong too. Now I'd give anything at 40 to smell and see that decanter again. |

| Oh, yes indeed, it was my favorite. I wore it in the fifties, and loved it. That, and "Miguet des Bois," also by Coty, I think, it was lilies of the valley. When I was in high school, I wore something called "Black Magic," which was similar to "Tabu" which all the girls were wearing. Heavy stuff! |

| I had the green apple cologne in the mid 70's and also have been looking for it for a number of years. The bottle was sort of a frosted glass in the shape of an apple. I have been wracking my brain trying to remember who made it. If you have any luck finding it, let me know. |

| The cologne was made by Max Factor out of Hollywood, California. It was just simply called Green Apple Cologne Spray. I have the original bottle. I hope this information helps everyone. I am still searching for a similar fragrance too. |

Hi
I have been trying to locate this perfume also - I used it in the seventies and it was lovely. I thought it was by Max Factor but reading the messages on this site, most people think it was Coty. If you ever locate it, please let me know!

I remember that great Green Apple Cologne from the 70s.
I loved everything about it, the color, the shape of the bottle (!), and the fragrance, of course. It had a delicate musky scent, as well as the crisp, clean green apple. I know I used to get it at Walgreen's. I have driven myself crazy looking online for it. Coty may have manufactured it, but I'm getting a feeling about Prince Matchabelli (now Parfums de Coeur). I have found Love's Musky Jasmin online, which I never thought I would find, but the Green Apple totally eludes me! I mean, WHAT WAS THE ACTUAL NAME??!!
You can find almost anything online...why not this?! Pls reply |

I am almost certain it was made by Max factor & I used to buy it in the 80s, in Nigeria.
Anyway, whoever made it, I think most of us are more interested in locating a present day retailer!

| I found a picture of the ad from 1975 for Max Factor Green Apple.Just go to "OKADI" website,and search in perfume under max factor.There is an ad for green apple there.It should bring back some memories. |

For years and years I have been trying to decide if the green apple perfume/cologne spray was just a product of my imagination. I remember my summer vacations in a small California town, staying with family. I would walk to the local drug store and spend many hours trying out the fragrances, makeup, lip glosses, and looking at the magazines etc.. This would have been in the early to mid 70's. What memories! The things that stick in my mind about those days as a teen, are priceless! Who would have quessed that the green apple or lemon scents would mean so much to me today.
If anybody has info on the green apple scent, please reply.
It would be so fun to wear it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| I too have been searching for a similar product to the Green Apple Cologne by Max Factor. I still have the frosted glass apple that my last bottle of cologne came in. I get it out and smell it occasionaly and take a little trip down memory lane. We need to contact Max Factor and ask them to reproduce the GREEN APPLE COLOGNE SPRAY from he 70's. |

Wondering if anyone remembers Max Factor's Blas cologne ?? I dont. But it was launched in 1975 and is a "sweet blend of floral scents". You can get it at:

I too thought the green applie cologne was made by Coty. I use to get it at Shopper's Drug Mart. So I'm a little confused now, was it made by coty or max factor?

| Ulta cosmetic stores have a Green Apple body mist that comes in a tall bottle but it is that bright green color of the old cologne from the 70's and has a very similar,tangy scent to it. I don't know if they have a online website. |

Thank you for the e-bay reference. Looking at the bottles sure does bring back a lot of memories. However I would be reluctant to purchase it...the cologne might be rancid by now.

LOL! And I thought I was the only person in the world who remembered this cologne and wanted it back on the market!
I was planning to check with the people at the Vermont Country store and see if they could either find some or convince Coty to give it another run. They specialize in old, no longer available brands and items. If everyone emails them as well - maybe we'll get to enjoy it all over again.
And yes, I've been using DKNY's Delicious - it's the closest thing on the market today. It's a little more "grown up", but it's just isn't the same! :o) |

| The green apple perfume in the spray bottle was made by the same people who made Love's lemon, baby soft, etc. I know because I've been looking for it since I ran out and that was many moon ago......It was definitely in the Love line. |

| I recently bought a new deodorant (lady Speed Stick in orchard blossom) which brought back memories of my green apple cologne. I remembered the frosted glass apple and started wishing I still had some. I started looking online and found this message board. Oh my gosh! I couldn't believe That there were so many with memories similar to mine. I agree. We should see if we can't get them to bring it back. We can't be the only ones out there looking! |

I am an eBay seller and have both bought AND sold 'GREEN APPLE' by (-Yes) MAX FACTOR.
In 1975 it was available in both a Clear as well as a Frosted Glass Apple Shaped spray bottle. Also came in a non-spray Apple Shaped bottle. -ALSO, it was available in an Apple Shaped glass pendant necklace on a chain, and ALSO was available in a tiny bottle of Green Apple Oil.
Menley & James were the originators of the Entire 'Love's' line - which was then purchased by Chattem and then Mem and finally by DANA .
Neither COTY Nor LOVE'S Ever had ANYTHING to do with MAX FACTOR Green Apple.
It did also change names from 'GREEN APPLE COLOGNE' (with the gold-foil circular sticker on bottle) to 'GREEN APPLE MUSK'.
But the formula remained the same.
I have several bottles of Max Factor Green Apple but will Never part now with what I have decided not to sell.
Best bet of finding this now is eBay. -It does pop up from time to time.
MAX FACTOR no longer offers any fragrances.
Just came in to clear up all misconceptions. |

I have been trying to find out the year it came out, but it seems to have fallen off the earth save for my lonely bottle. It actually was given to me by my mother, who got it from her grandmothers collection. Does anyone know how I can find out its value? Thanks! |

| I was the assistant to the Production Control Manager at Max Factor in 1974 - landed this job right out of high school, however I only worked there a few months before getting out of L.A. One day a beautiful little bottle of "Green Apple" showed up on my desk, as did often lots of fragrances that were being marketed. I distinctly remember going into the room where the fragrances were made in large vats, but I don't remember this cologne ever 'making it' in the 70's. My daughter, 23, has been wearing some kind of green apple cologne that smells EXACTLY like M.F.'s original. Hope this helps. |

| I had some of this, too, in the frosted glass apple with a silver cap. It wasn't my favorite. It reminded me of Boone's Farm Green Apple Wine that was popular, too, back then and hard on the stomach! But the bottle was beautiful. What were we thinking when we threw our bottles away? |

The one we are talking about on this thread is no longer made and even if you could find it, it would be so old that it might not be fragrant anymore.

Wow! What a blast from the past! I was looking up body mists and cologne sprays from my teenage years and saw your message. There was a green apple spray, in an apple shaped little bottle that had a mouth watering fragrance. Didn't it even have a little silver leaf attached around the top by an elastic band? I also remember a tangerine spray coming out about a year later, but that didn't last long.
I'm looking for Loves "Rain" body mist by Coty. I find some by Dana, but nothing by Coty. Good luck in finding Green Apple. |

| Yes I do !!!! it reminds me of my youth. Would love to purchase it again. The apple shaped bottle was very cool, think the perfume came in a clear and the Cologne in a frosted bottle. There are a few apple perfumes on the market but not like Maxfactors. I smelt like apples during 75 and 76, England was a blaze with /Sunshine during the Summer months and I lived on the coast, danced a lot in the disco's and left school The scent would take me right back, to those happy days. |

1000 percent that I would but more in a millisecond if Max Factor re-manufactured it using the original formula. I loved that fragrance and it was fantastic in the summer!
My mother bought it for me from a small local drugstore in NYC in the 70's. Please Max Factor-BRING BACK YOUR VINTAGE scent!!! It has many fans...all over the country! |

| FWIW, I've just listed a bottle of Green Apple that I just purchased on eBay. Sadly, although it smells exactly as I remember it from childhood, it triggered an asthma attack (developed sometime in adulthood, it's more than a little annoying to find I can't be near scents that never used to cause me a problem). Bottle looks unused and in it's original box :) |

| The Green Apple cologne I think everyone is talking about was made by Max Factor. I just got two bottles of it on Ebay and they didn't cost me a lot. The contents of one bottle still smells just like it did back in the 70s but the other one has begun to get just a little funky....not terribly so, but enough to notice. It smells pretty good once it's been on the skin for awhile though. Good luck in your search...it's out there, you just have to look! |
