Eau De Love Petition

Please sign my petition if you would like to see a relaunch of Eau de Love. I am trying to get at least a thousand signatures. It will be printed out and sent to Dana Classic Fragrances.

I wore this in the early 70's and have been scaning sites looking with HOPE, for an antique bottle to buy off ebay or etc. That's how I found you. PUT ME DOWN for one VOTE.....AND...please let me know if they get off their duff and bring it out AGAIN

I just googled Eau De Love to see if is still being sold somewhere and I saw this post. My grandmother bought me this perfume in the 70's and I loved it. I cant tell you how many bottles of perfume I have and dont wear because they all give me a headache. Good luck with getting the signatures

No, we're not talking about eau de love fresh lemon. That came out a little while after the first eau de love. Sorry if this dissapoints. Eauu de love, love's babbysoft, and love's fresh lemmon came out within a couple of years of one another,, and were all produced by love products. Best wishes

Gayle - Do you mean Love's Eau de Love or Love's Fresh Lemon? Definitely different products but made by the same company, Menley & James. I'm not sure myself just when they came out, but...you might try asking a reference librarian at your local public library. You wouldn't BELIEVE the trivia they can track down. No, I'm not a librarian, but my mom is (retired.)

I loved the word "haunting" - perfect choice of word to describe what I remembered it to be!!!!

I bought it at the beginning of the month, and, instead of being the haunting scent of the original, it's a very loud cheap gardinia scent. I sent it back immediately, but they didn't refund my money. They haven't answered my emails either. I would stay away from them.

I'm adding my name to your petition as well. I also ordered the Timeless Perfumes version of Eau de Love. It definitely is not the same as I remember. Gave me a headache when I wore it. Am also returning it. Don't waste your money or your time.

I would love Eau De Love perfume back! It was reasonably priced and everyone loved the smell. I would welcome it. They also made a Baby Love. But the original Eau De Love. Later on the mixture seemed changed too strong. The original was the best! Thanks!

In any case, I used 'Eau de Love' when I was in High School, and it was manufactured by Menley & James.

It's been a long while....
To answer your questions on Menley and James: Dana bought the whole M
& J Love's line formulary some years ago, so they are the owners to that fragrance now. I have to contact Dana Classic Fragrances to ask them.
OR, even better...
If you are interested in bringing back Eau De Love, call their company at (954) 725-2668. I really don't want to gamble $100+ on something from eBay that might end up being bottled bilge-water.

I think it might have been in'05 that I first signed up as one of the thousand supporters after reading about your interest in getting the support!!!!!! I'm 53 and my friend, whom I've known and been friends with since kindergarten, just passed away. She wore Eau de Love all the time, and my friends and I were hoping to buy some and wear it to her memorial, but couldn't find any. :( Count me in and add my name to the petition!

Oh my God!!! I'm so thrilled to see so many other women out there who remember and want to bring back both Eau de Love & Love's Fresh Lemon back...Please Dana/Coty, Please I'm begging you, please work to bring it back. I recently found Love's Baby Soft in my local Rite Aid Drug Store, it's authentic on application, but doesn't last at all. It doesn't have enough essential oils; please 'rework' it or develop a perfume or eau de perfume. I smelled a scent EXACTLY like Love's Fresh Lemon in a woman's product today and it took me back to the 70's and I decided to look for something like this message board. Please keep me posted. PLEASE!!!

I'd really like to get some Eau de Love, I just don't want to pay the $99 from Vintage perfumes. I was thinking about the Timeless Fragrances version until I read all of the posts.

Please see link to this entitled "Dana new number" by searching message board. As you know, Dana now has the formula from Menley & James. Information is critical for Dana to POSSIBLY bringing Eau de Love back!! As one of my previous post stated... STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! Let Dana know there is an interest and it will be successful! I told Angie demographics would be 48 - 60 yr olds. Let's not be apathetic!!

Well...number has been changed. If you want to call Dana (and we ALL should) it is 954-725-6829! I just had a chat with Angie and she said that Dana did a survey and the response was not great. I was shocked and I told her demographics would be the boomers. She is going to pass along info to product development. I also gave her this website! Maybe we have a shot once again! Positive thoughts...law of attraction!

If I could remake Eau de Love perfume myself I would. There is definetely a market here. If so many of us loved it in the 70's then it stands to reason that a whole new generation will also love it. A wonderful scent like Eau de Love will stand the test of time. Take a chance perfume manufacturers you will see!!!! Monica

My husband, who is 52, remembers loving the scent of Eau de love and, UNBELIEVABLY FOR A MAN, actually remembers the name. I've never tried it but would be thrilled to wear a perfume that evokes good memories for my man. Count me in.

I replied not too long ago but do not see my original message on this board.
I have been searching so long for this scent. My step mother would wear it when she first came into our family and I asked her what it was. Eau De Love ! "Eau de birds, eau de flowers... "Ha, it was a clean, fresh scent. I would buy a case if it was available again. Please bring it back! I am 45 yrs of age and would agree that all ages would love it.

I know we all claim we feel passionate about this, but it was very strange to me that when I phoned Dana a few weeks ago with the number posted here, the woman was very surprised to hear about all the interest in bringing back eau de Love. She said that she had heard something about a petition, but has gotten no calls on it. She asked for the site and said that should there be a resounding interest they would look into a re-launch, but at this time it wasn't likely. We had a nice, long chat and I feel that she was sincere. I think on their part they would be crazy not to consider it, should there be an AVALANCHE of interest. Please, please please..make it happen. Take a few minutes and pass the number along to as many people as you can think of and let's show DANA that we are sincere.

Sorry I took so long to respond - they don't always notify us when someone responds to a thread.

But that said, I DO think that People are responsive, but the problem is, that most of them think that it won't do any good because the 'Powers That Be' - The BIG Perfume/Fragrance Companies - want to sell Scents at a very High Profit to them, but make a scent with 'cheap' ingredients. They figure that People - nowadays - won't 'KNOW' the difference and they'll use 'anything' that's the latest trend....But 'THEY" forgot one thing.....US!!!!! Which is why we're HERE on this Blog - we DO KNOW the difference and what makes a 'TIMELESS' Fragrance!!!!

Some of these Perfume/Scent Companies/Moguls are so DENSE - they could make a Great Fortune, if ONLY they gave the Public - (US) what we want - and if they kept it at a FAIR PRICE - they would have SO many Orders that they wouldn't be able to keep up.

But anyway, that's my rant - All of you will notice all the wonderful Scents of the past, that have been discontinued, yet they're as popular as ever, so why discontinue them in the first place? GREED - so they can drive up the prices. It isn't enough for them to make a Profit, they have to KILL in Profits, and so, we 'pine' and yearn for Scents long gone.

So, the thing is...let's keep on asking for the Scents we love.

I tried to call Dana and speak with the contact person and left a message. That was quite awhile ago so I'll do it again! When anyone posts a message to this I get an email and I got a LOT of them today - getting my hopes up.

By replying does this mean I'm signing the petition or do I need to do something else here?

Please bring Eau de Love BACK!
If they need a celebrity to sell it maybe we could find one to endorse it - does anyone know anyone?

I went to the message board and saw a post from a chemist that will work on recreating discontinued perfumes. He needs some of the original though!

Has anyone already tried this? I kept a copy if anyone out there has some of the Eau de Love fragrance, I could contact him to get the scoop. Just reply to this and I'll write back.

I "love" that we al have renewed our passion theses past few days! I remember when I was on a quest to find Geminesse, (another 1970's favorite of mine) and finally located a mini-bottle on E-Bay, paid I think $25 for it and it was totally rancid. Apparently it was opened and not un-used as it claimed. Beware of "vintage" perfumes, like our beloved "Eau de Love" from less than scrupulous sellers. I think there is a lot of truth to what Donna said about high-end fragrances resulting in HUGE profits but let's face it Dana is not D&G or Chanel. As I said in a prior post, us "boomers" are the ones with the $$$, and Dana would benefit greatly in honouring our reqeust.

Unfortunately there are problems buying "real" fragrances on eBay, all of which I've run into, (such as fakes, rancid product, diluted product, etc.), so be real careful. As a cosmetics salesperson for almost 10 years, I've learned that the shelf life of a fragrance is 3 years at best, and that is the fragrance being kept in optimum conditions (tightly closed, in the dark, with regular, consistent humidity and temperature). Anything after 3 years is going to be questionable, simply because of breakdown in the fragrance's chemical composition. Even if there ever is a relaunch of an old favorite, it might not smell as we once remember it due to the use of synthetics and new technology, or even environmental factors such as pollution in the use of natural essences.

This address should take you right to the Eau De Love Fragrance Petition page, and you fill out the tables to add your info ( name, location, etc.). The way the website is designed will NOT give you a petition that looks like a printed sheet of names.
If you have not signed, please do so, and tell all your friends. This has been up for 3 years, and I only have 104 signatures. We have to show Dana that they are going to make some real money off us if we are ever going to get a relaunch.

My advice...don't buy it from Timeless Fragrances as I had...it has a very overpowering fragrance and does not even come close to Eau de Love! If you like the odor (sorry it is the only word I could use) of a very strong gardenia you may like it though.

I loved the fragrance Eau de Love. I would love to see it relaunched. I found a bottle in an antique store. I was so excited to see it. Even though it had become somewhat less of what its fragrance had been because it was so old I could however still smell it and it brought back so many memories.I have searched the internet trying to find it with no luck. Please consider bringing it back.
