Dante Cologne For Men
| I too would like to find Dante. I bought it for my husband when I got married in 1965. We will be married 40 yrs next year and that would be fun to surprise him with. |

| I dont know why they quit making some of those old colognes.they smell alot better than some of this "bug spray" they have out today.i wore dante,pub,jade east,british sterling,old spice,brut,all the old fart colognes.you can still get them all except for dante.once in a while youll find a bottle.one really good one on todays market is gravity. |

I still have my original bottle with 1/2" left and it smells as good as it did when I bought it in the 60's.

| I've been searching all over for Dante cologne..my 'ol man had this cologne on when we met and I loved it..that was 33 years ago...none of the others even compare....I don't remember who made it either..but I'm still looking for some more..we lost his when our house burned 10 years ago..I've been looking for some ever since then...please let me know if anyone anywhere finds some. I found a close scent called Wild Country by Avon. Though not as rich as Dante, it is in the neighborhood. It also reminds me of Canoe and in a similar small round bottle. I too have a 1/2 of my original red bottle Dante. Good colognes last. Too bad someone cant find the original formula. Shields of NY is on the bottom of the bottle as distributors. Include me if anyone finds some. 731-635-7949.

| H,i, I dont know Dante cologne, but based on Danirvin's reccomendations for fragrances in the same family,here are a few suggestions that I have.He says that Wild Country(Avon) is similar,but not as strong, as is canoe. Well I do Know both Canoe and Wild Country and I Have several fragrances that I find from time to time that are stronger versions in the same family. One is called Reveur by Mary Kay. It is a vintage fragrance that is discontinued but I have found 2 bottles in the past 3 months.seen another on E-bay. Another good alternate route might be CAESAR. It too is vintage but can still be found on E-bay from time to time. Also try ROMAN BRIO. It seems to have the same theme and similar fragrance . Again check E-bay. Then there is one that I have seen twice called CANNES, by APPLE COSMETICS. Also vintage. Another might be kanon , by SCANNON LTD. Lastly, try OUTDOOR MAN , by A.R. WINARICK. All of these fragrances are similar and are vintage but still pop up from time to time. One more CLUBMAN by PINAUDE. Let me know if anyone trys any of these and thinks they are close to the apparantly elusive DANTE. THANKS GARY |

There have been at least 3 recent sales of Dante cologne on ebay in the last three months, but you really need to want the cologne very badly, each sold for over $150 a bottle.
My suggestion would be that if you like Dante, try a scent that you can still get called Anucci, it is very similar. |

Guess what guys...I started collecting older colognes and their original bottles and I believe I just so happen to have a bottle of Dante Aftershave. I got it at an antique estate sale. I was really excited because I got this and some different ones as well. The aftershave (cologne) smells great and is very strong. All you would need is a dab of this a day or every other day and this is going to last you forever. It's a big 4 oz. And has most of it left in the bottle. How cool is that? That bottle of Dante is after shave, the one we used to have was cologne in a red bottle, simular to the shape of that one.
Pretty close though. |

Wow, I didn't know that so many people were looking for Dante cologne. I have a bottle with about 1 oz. Left. The bottle is a nice red color with a round, metallic top. I don't ever open the bottle, but can still smell the cologne when sniffing where the cap meets the glass. Mine is called Dante Original Cologne, 4 oz. It seems to be a bit of a treasure at this time.
