Does anyone know if the Midnight sold by timelessperfumes.com smells like the original? Midnight was my Mom's favorite perfume and I would love to get her some for Christmas. I just want to make sure it smells the same!

I understand it is not made anymore. There are some companies who have made a Perfume, or imposter Perfumes, that carry a similar smelling Perfume, but that is all.
I think I may have the only bottle left in existence.

| Midnight by Tussy was my signature fragrance in the late 1950's and alas, not to be found. However, if we all sent Vermont Country Stores enough requests, they might be able to locate it. Let's give it a try. |

Hello! I just did a Google search on "Midnight" "Tussy" and found you guys. I too LOVED Midnight by Tussy. I think we need to write to the company (If they still exist) and request it again. I also loved Kellogg's Concentrate Cereal and they quit making that too. :-(
Please let me know if anyone finds it too. I loved it so much. Everyone always told me that I smelled like Christmas. :-) |

The Midnight by Tussy at perfumecounter.com is an imposter oil, not the original Midnight by Tussy.
It may be a good duplicate of the original, I don't know, but I believe that perfumescounter.com makes dupe oils of originals, they don't sell the original fragrance. |

I too , absolutly loved Midnight by Tussy, & the lotion was heavenly as well. Both Tussy & Dorothy Gray were bought out by, get this, PLAYTEX, geese !! PLATEX of all companies. I read that somewhere on the web. That's why the only thing you see anymore w/the Tussy name on it is the antipersperent, & even that shows up in "Dollar" stores now.
What a depressing state of affairs, when Playtex takes over classy names such as these two. Midnight was one of the classiest scents of all time, & popular at the same time Evening In Paris was. What an era, 50's & 60's fragrancewise !! Short of the possibility of scented bras, our chances of ever seeing Midnight again are no doubt slim, & none.

Dear Sirs: Midnight by Tussy had such a beautiful background fragrance -and the outside Box was just beautiful if had a shiny blue box with gold letters. Anyone that passed by you it smelled just heavenly.

I ordered the Midnight perfume advertised in the Vermont Country Store, it is by no means the Midnight fragrance of the 50's. Save your money, mine is going back :(

Go on ebay & see if you can find midnight, i got mine there 3 different times. I have some perfume, lotion (it is dried up) oil & powder which is not even opened. If you can't find it let me know..happy holidays, merry christmas etc.. |

| I also ordered the Midnight perfume for $68.00 from Vermont Country Store. It was NOT the same Midnight perfume made by Tussy back in the early 50's. It was nothing like the Tussy perfume, however, I do recall another perfume called Midnight that came out in the early 70's that did not smell at all like the Tussy's Midnight. Perhaps Vermont Country Store's Midnight might be that one. Back in the early 50's all of us girls wore Midnight by Tussy. We bought it at the local drug store. |

| Does anyone know if the original White Christmas perfume can be found for sale on the web? When I was a child in the late 40's and early 50's my cousin gave her sister a bottle of White Christmas. It was so wonderful. There was one White Christmas perfume we found on the Internet, but after ordering it we found it NOT to be the original. |

I could not believe so many of you love this fragrance too?
I have the empty bottle in front of me and it is tightly capped..still has the smell it had...I loved this perfume..bought it in 1962...and never forgot how hauntingly sexy smelling it was....let me know if you find any? |

If anyone is interested, there is a Vintage, 1950's, Midnight, by Tussy Sachet Powder, full,w/box, on Ebay now, very reasonably priced.

If nothing else, one can just sit & whif that georgeous fragrance, & remember when we could all just go to the nearest drugstore & buy this gem of a scent that is no more. |
