BABE Perfume By FABERGE

I received a bottle of BABE for my 12th xmas. I am now 38. I loved that perfume. Yes it was cheap and you could buy it anywhere. However, I loved it and it was a great light and yet powerfully wonderful perfume/spash.

Can anyone help me find BABE?

I looked for some Babe today at Wal-Mart. I remembered seeing it there before, but I never had the money to buy it.
I had heard that it was discontinued and I could not believe it

I too am looking for Babe by Faberge without much success short of paying almost $100. For some Babe "Splash". I have been looking for it since the early 1990's when I last purchased it from Montgomery Wards. I have even tried to research the ingredients through the the original distributers in New York as well as some in Europe but without success. I would appreciate any updates as well.

I too had a BABE deotarant. I cant get over how much its pissing me off that I cant find the perfume anywhere without paying $100.00

I too have looked everywhere for the Babe Cologne. When my husband and I were dating, that is what I wore. He even kept is sprayed in his car...lol. Would love to find it, and/or a smell alike..I sure wish Faberge would bring this one back!!!!!!!

We have 1 bottle. It is 1/4 oz. Not quite full now. It comes in a glass bottle with glass stopper and is in a metal case (brass) Has the name "BABE" embossed in the glass bottle front. Also includes original paperwork.

I have also looked for this perfume for a long time. Purchased some on ebay and paid quite a bit. Isn't there a chance that a company can replicate it if you have the original scent? I don't know it that is legal, but just wondering.
It is a pity I didn't realize this when I was paying so little for it at my local drugstore in the 70's.

Another BABE fan here in Louisiana. It was ALL I wore in high school. Now at 36, I'm dying to wear it again...aren't we all. But ladies-please careful about buying it on Ebay. Perfume CAN go bad and who knows how old those bottles being sold are.

I tried the oil at Belle Star (Babe is #25). It didn't really hit the mark; however, for $5 I can't complain. It smells too flowery - think "Babe Goes to Hawaii." As the day wore on and the oil wore off, it smelled a little more like Babe - or at least the way I remembered Babe. A worthy effort but unfortunately, not the same.

Hi Everyone,
I just checked EBAY and there are about 6 items from powder ($9.99) to spray mist for about $40.00 to $50.00.

It states that this is rare so I guess this perfume is not produced anymore. Go figure everytime we find something we LOVE--off the market it goes!!

Belle-Star Babe knock-off is 1/4 oz. $5.00 and 1 oz. $13.50 (+ tax in CA only) and it only faintly smells like Babe (lots of imagination helps.) The used bottles of "not full" Babe on eBay is the best that I have found for my habit and my friends'.

I used to use Babe also when I was young, my grandma also found it in antipersirant form and it too smelled wonderful.
I would love to be able to find some, not only in perfume form, but in bath additive and lotion...etc.

I too loved the Faberge colognes --- what on earth happened to the Faberge Company? My sister always called me "Babe" & would give me bottles for b-day, & special occasions - It is close to Tresor of Lancome -- but, not really! How do we contact Faberge Co.?? We s hould put on pressure to them!! I haven't seen any in Oregon or Wash state -- and I really dig....

Please let me know of anyone who has any Babe for sale, I have been looking for the longest. I tried to find Faberge in New York, but they are no longer there. I have an old original empty bottle, wow, I must have had it for like, hehe, 20-years. Also, how about Evening in Paris, remember that one to, as a kid I use to buy that for my mom every Christmas, it was like$2.00 in the late 60's and Babe was like $10.00 to $14.00 dollars in the 70's & 80's. Please, Please, someone , somewhere, GET US SOME BABE!

I have a 1.25 oz bottle of the Babe body splash that's about half full, so there's maybe .75 oz left? It's in a plastic bottle, and even though it's a splash, the scent really lasts so you don't need very much. Anyway, if anyone wants it, e-mail me at popsiclestand@hotmail.com and make an offer.

Donna’s post 03/29/04 is right on as far as Belle-Star and Babe. The fragrance is NOT Babe; nice but not Babe. For $5.39 it was worth a try. :-)

Http://www.smallbottles.com is now sold out. They had some beautiful 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz miniatures.

You can still get Splash Cologne (not that water-based plastic bottle stuff) and Powder at http://shop.pageland.com/catalog.cfm (offend referenced to as www.thefragrancefactory.com), but for $110 per 2 oz. Bottle and $150 per 5 oz. Powder most of us are forced to troll on eBay.

There has been tremendous activity on eBay during the last month or so. Prices are higher and bidders have multiplied. For example:

2 oz spray cologne in box with a little pendant, item #2237729072 closed on 04/16/04 at $67.00. Sold by ctrs1998. Bought by badgirlsrock.

1/8 oz miniature cologne in box, item #2236614995 sold on 04/04/04 through a Buy It Now at $15.00, within hours of being offered for sale. Sold by illizet. Bought by alerokendra. (This was a beauty! I hesitated and lost.)

1/2 oz spray cologne with box, item #2996861015 closed on 04/03/04 at $30.50. Sold by member3433729. Bought by msisco.

A very nice boxed set of a 4 oz spray cologne and 5 oz bath powder, item #2995573846 sold for $58.00. Sold by anne912lada. Bought by gjone3y on 03/28/04.

As for partial bottles or “used” items, they are offered, and are cheaper of course than the boxed items, but their prices are quite a bit higher than they were. No more picking up anything very cheap.

“Supply and Demand” rules the Babe world. Just look at the number of posts on this site compared to other colognes/perfumes. There is NO comparison.

Hello hello. I too LOVE Babe! I wore it a lot when it was on the shelves of the drug stores. I was shocked when they quit making it. I searched for it for a number of years to no avail. Sometime back, (maybe 4 years or 5 years ago) I got a mailer in my box offering womens cologne at discount rates. You know what? They offered Babe! I was skeptical but ordered about 5 or 6, 2 ounce bottles. It came and was the real deal, packaged by fabrege with the same old logo. I was thrilled. I poured that Babe into a lovely old perfume bottle and it sits along side of my Chanel and Estee lauder, etc. Today. To me it is the costliest cologne I own and I only wear it on special occasions. Sometimes I open it and put a bit on my hand just to smell it over the day. I guess I have about 8 ounces or so and still one of the bottles it came in about 1/3 full. I just got it out and put some on while I was writing this to you guys. If you ever see a discount warehouse type deal offering cologne at discount rates check it out. You may be surprised to find it. I am also going to start scouting Big Lots and old five and dime stores. I do not want to run out. Happy hunting Love, Belle

Belle Star Fragrances at www.belle-star.com has fragrance oils that are duplications of famous fragrances, many of which have been discontinued. When I was on their site I noticed they have a Babe "smell alike." Their prices are very reasonable. Good luck!

WOW!!! How excited am I to have stumbled onto this website after searching for Babe for YEARS! I also fondly remember wearing Babe in the late 70's and early 80's (I'm 43) with my Calvin Klein jeans and Candies mules! Ladies, we are part of an elite group because we have such exquisite taste!

Me too love this perfume big time.Got a couple of bottles on Ebay recently but it's really a rare find and costs a lot.

I have not been able to get any duplication/smell like product until now,it would be ok as long as it's a well done replica of the original

You can find original Babe Products if you google "Faberge Colognes" or "Babe Cologne" Beware the knockoffs though. The original still smells great!

I received my first gift pack from a family I used to babysit for in the 80's. I've had the soap, the powder, and the perfumes...every year, around Christmas, I'd go looking for the packs to let my mom or family know that it was still there! I'd get those for Christmases after that. When I found out the stores didn't have it anymore, I almost cried!

I'd be in for writing to Faberge and letting them know they should bring it back. It's a classic, some say a VINTAGE, so why not? A classic for a new generation.

Yes iam many that loves babe. I used to get it every year for gifts and of course i bought it myself. I have tried many scents but thats the only one i love and everone else. Please bring it back, or at least have something that is very very close to it. Also what was the reason that it was taken off the market? there is alot of us out there that love this scent. There should be other scents that should be off the market.

There is a perfume that's somewhat close to the Babe scent...wasn't it Red Door or is it Red D'Or? Check into it and see, I can't remember, but I tried smelling it and it's a hint like it, but I prefer the REAL THING!

I FOUND BABE!!! I was in an antique store looking at furniture, etc. When I noticed a basket by the register of partially filled (empty?) bottles of perfume. I took a peek AND ALMOST PASSED OUT! THERE IT WAS! A small originally bottle of BABE!
I bought it for $5.00!!! So, there you go...happy hunting!

I, too, love Babe. I recently gave myself the beswt Christmas present ever. I paid a whopping $50.00 for one ounce of my most cherished cologne. I found it on Ebay. Granted it's not always availble there, but keep an eye out. It does show up from time to time

Hi -- somebody was asking here about the "fragrance composition" of Babe. (!) Here it is! (I got this off an "encyclopedia of perfume" site, a long time ago, that I can't find again, unfortunately. The capitalization --for emphasis?-- of some ingredients in the composition list was theirs.)

Faberge Babe 1976: Floral (1977 FIFI Winner)
Top Notes: Aldehydic-Fresh: ALDEHYDES, raspberry, hyacinth, bergamot
Heart Notes: Romantic-Floral: LILY OF THE VALLEY, honey, rose, orris, carnation, jasmine
Base Notes: Sensual-Powdery: VETIVER, MUSK, sandalwood, amber, treemoss

I just LOVE Babe... I have some and I ration it. *sigh*

(Also, there is a seller on eBay who is selling small spritz bottles that she "decants" from her big bottle. Might be a way for some people here to get a little bit to enjoy. Just a thought!)

Well ladies Im ashamed to say that I had to give in and pay $150.00 for a bottle of Babe from Perfume Factory. I searched for a number of years and I got many leads, but they were the only place that had it, and then they said supplys were running low, so I didnt want to take a chance, they also at one point had Evening in Paris, but had ran out and were trying to get more, so I'll check your sight for that one. I"m going to keep looking for it somewhere else much cheaper, until then im happy with my purchase.

I would suggest all of you to log onto vermontcountrystore.com and ask them if they can get hold of "babe cologne. I love and miss this cologne as well. Vermont country store tries to obtain stuff from years ago. I requested they get "Gee your hair smells terrific" shampoo, it took a while, but they got it!
Btw, they do sell "evening in Paris", I believe.
So, I would recommend all of you "Babe" fans to go to their website and request they get it!

I know what you mean... I'm almost 39 (in 2 weeks) for some reason, whenever I used to wear it, I would get so many compliments! I really don't even like to wear perfume these days, but for some reason Babe still stands out in my mind. If you google it you can find it used. Some company called Lycos on line has it for like 200.00! Bizarre!

I want some too! Once I wanted some Evening in Paris,cause my older cousins had some when I was a kid and they put some on me. I went to The Vermont Country Store online.and asked if they could find Evening in Paris for me and they did. I finally got a bottle when I was 60 years old.I'd go to The Vermont Country Store online and see if they can find it. Good Luck!

(they may be pricey in the end, but if you get some fancy new designer name perfume in Nordstrom or Macy's it costs as much or more...) go take a look on eBay, as of right now there are five of them! (And one is an AMAZING deal... Check out auction #260024934999!) Just FYI! (and no, none of the Babe sellers are me, and I do not even know any of them, so this info is not me trying to sell anyone's stuff for them or anything!)

Kay - only get the spray kind (with the gold crimped seal on the bottle neck around the spray nozzle), that way you know you are really getting Babe and not something else poured into a bottle. !!!

The other thing is that even Babe can go rancid after a while (especially if it wasn't stored properly.)

I know what you mean though, I got some small purse sized bottles and even though they were in an official looking bottle with matching box, they did NOT smell (at all!) like Babe. (Think those were actual counterfeit from some other country.) Got stuck with the price on those myself.

Good luck next time, and just stick with the sprays!

I stumbled upon this after my roomate brought home a bottle of Babe (empty). He knows that I collect bottles and it was one of the three he found while cleaning some brush off a property here in FL Keys. I'm thrilled to know that it is atleast somewhat an old bottle, but there is no sentimental value for me as there seems to be for many of you. If anyone wants an old empty bottle of Babe (no top, just metal insert).... I will send it to you for price of shipping only (like $2). I don't know if this will allow my email, but you can try contacting me via yahoo IM : sharkcrusader. It does have some syrup like residue of the cologne still in bottom of bottle (not much smell, but who knows - maybe add some water and see).

Same story here...loved it as a teen, still love it as an adult. Have paid big money for it off eBay, but continue to do so just to have it! Would love for Faberge to start manufacturing again, as the supplies are getting pretty low and spendy.

Kay, there is an eBay auction up right now as of today (11/19/06) with a Babe set in the original packaging and I can vouch for this seller's products. I bought some Coty Sweet Earth from her, and her items are real and in the original boxes. I don't know her personally (and I don't get any $ from her for endorsing her sales or anything!), this is just info given to you as another Babe seeker. I ordered two bottles off of ebay and paid $200.00 to someone who tried to duplicate it. It was a very poor effort and I feel that the guy is selling phony product so be careful.

I would love to find this cologne if it is available. This stuff smelled so good on me and I always had people asking what I was wearing. If I had known it was going away I would have bought it all up. I really hope they bring this back. If there is a petition to sign to bring it back, please email this site as this is the best stuff ever. Far better than many expensive perfumes even.

I bought Lady Stetson the other night just for nostalgic purposes and out of nowhere came all these memories of Babe cologne!

It offers you the top middle and bottom level ingredients AND offers suggestions for scents close to or similar to the one you are searching for. They even have one for Babe!, but they don't list Lady Stetson because even though it smells oh so similar, the ingredients ARE really different! I looked it up!

You can order the real thing (BABE & other favs) from some sellers on ebay...there is always some listed when I look. I have ordered several bottles of my old fav "WOODHUE" from sellers and have been very pleased with them. I wish they would have a comeback of some of our old favs. I believe they would sell quite well... (speaking as a baby boomer who would pay a lot more than I did back in the 70's for my fav scent!)

I received a bath powder of Babe when I was about 14, or so. I loved the smell. My sister had recieved a different kind and used hers all up. One day I opened the lid to mine and was upset to find she had broken the thin cardboard cover on it. I told her she didn't need to do that since there were a few circular holes to begin with, but she had wanted more. I kept it hid after that, using it for special occasions like it was perfume. I still have it, and it still smells just as wonderfu. I have also looked to see if there were perfumes or soap that I could get, with no luck. But at least I still have my Babe bath powder!

I have missed this cologne for years. It was so cheap (great for the high school allowance budget). I always got compliments when I wore it. The cheapest I've seen it is $69.95 at vintagefragances.com.

It's funny how you can still get its counterpart, Brut by Faberge, for a mere $8.29!

A few years ago I could not find any Babe at all now I have two bottles, I cant remember where I got my first bottle but the second bottle I got from e-bay, the only thing is that it is expensive, I paid $150.00 for the first bottle and $100.00 for the second bottle which is bigger than the first one I believe a 1.7 oz and a 4 oz, I longed for the smell for so long I decided to treat myself, I only wear it when i feel nastalgic,(hehe) and it is the real thing so ladies if you really want it check e-bay, right now they have a few different selections at different prices, and I hope you will be satisfied as I was.

There is a company that can reproduce a fragrance if you have any at all left. However it is a little expensive, but can be done. If enough people that want the fragrance got together and pooled money.......email me and i will tell you the name of the company.

Just received my 2oz. Bottle of BABE from fabergecolognes.com and I have been transported back in time. I suggest you all check out his website. He has a lot to choose from on any given day and his selection is constantly updated. I have been reading this forum since it started and I have to say it's taken me THIS long to finally purchase some, but it was worth it. To the people who suggested Lady Stetson....you are right, it DOES smell the same as BABE. But, something about the nostalgic BABE bottle makes the higher price worth it. Keep this forum going people! You never know, Faberge may bring it back if they know there is this much interest in 'bringing it back'!!!!

The BEST substitute I have found is Lady Stetson. It's still widely available at CVS and other stores like Kmart, etc.

It has the overtones of Babe's woodsy scent. After you spray it, you'd SWEAR it was Babe :) .

Give it a try and see what you think.

Like others, I've bought on ebay with success. I would buy spray or splash vs dabber so you can be more sure the contents haven't been diluted, etc.. Have tried Babe copies a time a two that were just ghastly. Never was refunded although the bottle was sent back per their "guarentee." Woodhue was also a favorite and found a duplicate of that through a professional perfume manufacturer. Heaven! I wish the word could be put out for that company as I know people would love to have fresh Woodhue. Anyway, there is an almost constant supply of Babe on ebay if you can't get it elsewhere.

Woodhue can be purchased from "The Vermont Country Store" catalog, as well as many others from "the past".
Unfortunately, Babe is not one of them, but I wish it were.
They even have "Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific" shampoo! and "Lemon Up" shampoo.
You can even request that they try to find "Babe" and they will try and they'll let you know the outcome.
That is what I did, I requested the "GYHST" shampoo, and they found it!

You will never guess what happened to me. I have been looking for Babe for awhile too as I use to wear it when I was young. My Mom said to me you know you have a box of perfume and stuff still at my house and lo and behold I had a gift set of Babe Perfume with powder and lotion in a gift set never opened. I was the happiest girl - still smelled exactly like I remembered !!!!!
