This Hermes' men's fragrance, Rocabar, launched in May 1998, balances potent notes of juniper berries, cypress and cedar with the warm elegance of balsam fir and vanilla. The juniper berries at the head recall the piquant scent of pine needles, the greenness of cedar leaves hints to the sweetness of citrusy fruit, the bracing lavender-nutmeg-cinnamon accord adds a vivacious aroma to this fragrance's head notes. The heart is as powerful as the trunk of the trees that give Rocabar its unique woody character: the balsamic aroma of Italian cypress, the dry, passionate note of red Virginian cedar. The bottom note of rocabar reveals the sensual pleasure of Canadian balm extracted from the resin of fir trees. Blended with a touch of vanilla to caress the skin and recall the emotion of a journey to distant lands. The masculine flask is wrapped in a saffron yellow, madder-red and indigo horse blanket that gives the fragrance its name. (Rug-a-barres=Striped rug)
